Creating a Robot: Lizardroid

I recently built the Lizardroid. I have summarized the points to be mindful of during the assembly process.

What is Lizardroid

ELEKIT brand’s adorable Frilled-Neck Lizard robot.

ロボット工作キット リザードロイド

The Lizardroid comes with four legs, and these four legs and its tail(しっぽ) are controlled by a single motor. It’s a remarkable product that made me think, “Ah, I see,” while building it.

Moreover, within the Lizardroid series, there is the Lizardroid BT which can be operated using Bluetooth from a smartphone. This means you can assemble the standard Lizardroid first and later switch to the Lizardroid BT after assembling. It’s great for playing with kids under elementary school age, as it can be controlled remotely. So, I recommend the Lizardroid BT version when playing with young children.

ELEKIT is a learning kit designed for children to enjoy and learn “making things,” “electronics,” and “programming.”

Target Age

Assembly can be done at around 6 years old, but if it’s just about observing with interest, even around 6 months old is okay. The package is labeled as 10 years and older.

Assembly Preparation

This robot can be easily created by simply combining its parts. No programming is required.
